The OpenCV-Face-andmore-Tracker is an OpenCV based face detection (and eye detection, nose detection, mouth detection) example application. It started as an OpenCV test project to see how capable OpenCV is out of the box, and to review how suitable Elance, ODesk and Freelancer.com are for getting help with image recognition projects. The source code is available on Github as open-source (MIT License)
This OpenCV tutorial is provided as ready to compile/run Windows Visual Studio project using C#, .NET, and EmguCV. For this project OpenCV V3.0 (beta) and EmguCV V3.0 (alpha) was used.
Designated self-driving car test track on the A9 Autobahn.
It will start in the Bavarian section of the highway
(marked yellow), home to BMW and Audi headquarters.
“We will set up the A9 Autobahn (motorway) in Bavaria as a test track,” Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in Berlin in an exclusive interview today.
The first measures for the pilot project “Digital Highway” should start this year. “The German car industry will be a world leader in digital cars” said Mr. Dobrindt. The motorway should be technically equipped so that it will also allow communication between road and vehicle, as well as from vehicle to vehicle. “First there will be vehicles with driver assistance systems and then it can also be used with fully automated vehicles,” said Dobrindt.
“The German auto industry can be a world leader in digital cars…” continued Mr. Dobrindt. The politician relies on independence from companies like Google. ”The German manufacturers will not rely on Google”, Dobrindt stated. They were in the process together with science - such as the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft - to develop their own platforms for networking and communication of data.
ODesk was the last of the “Big 3” outsourcing portals (ODesk, Elance, Freelancer.com) that did not offer escrow services and arbitration for fixed price projects. One might remember: A great arbitration service was one of the key features of RentaCoder, one of the famous grandfathers of all current “online staffing” portals. RentaCoder (later renamed to vWorker) was acquired by Freelancer.com in November 2012 for a price in the millions.
I released the Webcam OpenCV face (and eye, nose, mouth) detection project on GitHub. It is available under the MIT open-source license, the shortest and probably most permissive of all the popular open-source licenses. So have fun with it! For more details and future updates please see the face tracker’s project page: OpenCV Face -and more - Tracker.

Upwork (formerly ODesk), Elance and Freelancer.com provide on-demand access to more to more than 1 million technical workers – but how good are they for outsourcing OpenCV computer vision projects? And if they work, on which portal to do you find the best OpenCV experts? This review gives some hints.
As test project I created a specification for an OpenCV based Face (and Eye, Nose, Mouth) Tracking Demo App - to be done inside Windows Visual Studio. Then I posted the request on the three major outsourcing portals.
