All OCR engines support Chinese OCR (Simplified and Traditional, plus Cantonese on Engine 2). OCR Engine 2 reads vertical Chinese text when the language is set to auto (the default) and, with the overlay option, returns one bounding box per character. For Chinese handwriting OCR we recommend OCR Engine 3.
